Dr Anita Morris

Dr Anita Morris is the Family Violence Principal Practitioner at the Department of Health and Human Services. Her role is one of three within the Victorian Government and was implemented as a recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence in 2016. The roles were created to drive practice consistency and practice excellence across the family violence reform agenda.

Dr Morris' research has included a PhD into the safety and resilience of children experiencing family violence, the piloting of trauma informed care in paediatric settings, scoping an on-line safety and communication tool for children experiencing family violence and understanding gendered violence in out of home care settings.

Dr Morris' research interests include ethical and safe child-centred methodologies.
