Mooring Block

The loss of innocence and freedom normally offered to a child - something they will always reach for - is signified by the tying of wings to a concrete mooring block, an object reminiscent of my childhood, an object that is impossible to move by hand especially for a child.

The constant and always thing becomes toys - the bear in the child's hand acts as a confidant, all the darkness and anger resides in it and not the child, acting almost as a shield. Dress up and clothes, an expression of self and how one is feeling that does not disrupt the fragile peace, it is a form of joy that radiates.
