Love
I recently participated in a peer support group for victim survivors of family violence. Part of the program was to get participants to create a mosaic, something I've never done before! I am not arty-farty so yeah the anxiety set in quite quickly! We were given a small paver. From there it was a matter of deciding what to put on it?!
I wanted colour, I love colours. And I wanted positivity.
Looking at the broken pieces of crockery and glass pieces, some of them stood out.
I started by bordering the paver with the blue glass tiles. Blue is my favourite colour. We chatted as we glued. Each tiny, fractured piece coming together to become part of a beautiful mosaic just like our own lives - seemingly, shattered and disjointed we can repurpose and rebuild into something truly beautiful. Our broken pieces are not signs of defeat, but become our stepping stones to creating something new, something different, something better than before. It is in the imperfection of each piece coming together that a profound beauty can be found, a testament to the power of transformation and growth.
When we returned a week later and added the grout, that's when the colours really popped.
Can you see it? Look again. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Thank you to the amazing WEAVERS who created these words and artwork.
