PTSD

I cant seem to submit my story, just wrote a whole lot and it disappeared. So will try in short, and again later if it works. I would like to share some things I learnt through my experience. In australia, call 131444 where your call stays logged and recorded and can be followed up if you ring 000 it doesnt, and if local police do not respond or turn up or record incidents there is no record of it. In some areas, as soon as classed as dv crimes are instantly downgraded and not treated seriously at all, and often ignored. This needs to change and is costing lives. It seems there needs to be a special response unit of its own that takes these crimes seriously, as some police in some areas do not want to know about or deal with crimes as soon as they can class them as dv. Crimes are crimes are what they are and should be treated as such. Dv category or not. Or dv category treated more seriously if anything, as statistically most murder cases are people that have been or are known to victims...and all it takes to be classed as dv is..someone you know or have known previously. So work that out. Its costing lives to be downgraded once classed as dv, and that needs to seriously change. Police are in charge of investigating themselves if they dont abide by their apparent code of conduct, refuse to record or report crimes and evidence..no matter which channel persued..leading to a environment that breeds corruption and misconduct unfortunately. This needs to change also. This costs lives of innocent victims of crime also. Record your own evidence. Dont rely on police to do so. Give a copy of that evidence to somebody trusted, family, or someone who can safely keep a copy. Take your own photos as evidence. Get security cameras and keep copies with someone safe if you can. If police wont get an avo for you or help in any way, aply for your own through the courts ..putting your own real and genuine reasons in the application. Police can write anything in the application including misrepresentation of you and your circumstance. I own my own home, pay my rates and bills and taxes, and the treatment and experience of mine by police was horrific and put me in serious danger, caused more trauma, and was disgusting and seriously damaging to my safety and circumstance of seriously needing assistance in a life threatening circumstance that I had not instigated or caused in any way.
